I was born and lived my early childhood in Vietnam during the sixties. My father was an amateur photographer who escaped often for hours to capture the Vietnamese daily life, and who also recorded our family afternoons spent at the Botanical Gardens under the shade of its magnificent trees, in Saigon. My father's photographs soothed the longing i had for Vietnam after our return to France. My childhood in Asia shaped my aesthetic preferences.
My digital collage series about childhood incorporates those worlds, his photography and my own work. It combines that exotic and distant past with the present, the vibrant colors being the conduit... to bring our memories in a new dimension.
